Introduction

Despite having a large requirement the Industry faces a challenge of shortage of manpower. This would be hard to believe for many parents and students but it is a fact. As per Industry data commonly shared by HR heads of the top BPOs, only 8% of the people interviewed make it to the final selection round. The reasons given by the Industry are that students interviewed do not possess the requisite skills. A closer look at the recruitment procedure shows that the students are rejected due to lack of basic skills in communication and are found lacking in their grooming. In the group discussions, which are generally a mass rejection round, candidates are not able to draw attention of recruiters to themselves. There are as many as 20% to 25% candidates who are borderline cases and are come close to being selected, however due to lack of proper inputs are not properly prepared to face the interviews.

Though there are a lot of institutes that offer BPO training, few of them have trainers who have the experience in teaching BPO employees. Many of them lack the academic strength required to create relevant programs for the Industry.

Program Advantages

Hughes has designed along with its Content Partner LIQVID and inputs from the top ITES/BPO companies a program that helps students prepare for clearing the interview stage. A student that would have otherwise been a borderline case can now enroll and prepare himself for a successful interview by enrolling to the ITES /BPO Skill enhancement program. The program helps students improve upon their vocabulary by focusing on 2,000 popular words that are used commonly each day. The program lays stress on grammatical skills and presentation skills. The program comes along with a CD using which the student can practice what is taught in class by the teachers.

Students can avail of the Placement Assistance provided by Hughes for this program.

Course Modules

The course consists of 24 sessions in which a mix of Classroom and Computer Based Training is used to deliver the program. The total duration of the program is for 80 hours out of which instructor led classes are for of 44 hours.

Eligibility and Evaluation

The program is for students who have completed their Graduation in any stream. Students who have not in their final year of graduation can also apply however their Placement Support will be provided once they submit their final year exam results and certificates.

Admission Criteria

The candidate should be atleast a graduate from a recognized University/ College.

Certification

An exam is held at the end of the program to ascertain the skill level achieved by the students. The Certification depends on the following

  • Performance in the final exam.
  • Regular attendance of more than 90%
  • Submission of class assignments on a regular and timely basis

Placement Assistance

Placement Assistance is provided to all students who meet the following criteria:

  1. Attendance record of 90% of all classes including CBT and Classroom sessions
  2. Student must perform well in the final exam and secure more than 60% marks
  3. Students must have cleared all the dues pertaining to the course.

Placement assistance is provided in the form of interviews with companies wanting to recruit skilled manpower for their BPO operations. Final placement depends upon the candidates performance during the interview. Interviews may be held in different cities and the cost of travel and lodging will have to be borne by the student.

Program Delivery

The sessions will deliver on HughesNet interactive learning platform. The heart of the platform is a powerful user interface that enables large number of geographically distributed students to have a highly interactive ‘one to one'/ ‘one to many' exchange with a central faculty. The system incorporates live broadcast video; two-way audio and data interactivity to enable the students to watch and interact with the faculty live on their PC's.

How to Apply

  • Participants need to download the application form
  • Fill the application form with all the necessary details as asked in the form.
  • Submit the Duly filled Application Form with the Application Fees and other documents to the nearest HughesNet Fusion Center.
  • On getting selected the participant would be intimated by the center.
  • Candidate has to deposit the fees by Draft to Hughes upon selection to complete the enrolment process.

Terms and conditions (regarding the enrollment related areas)

  • All the forms should reach HCIL Gurgaon by 4 PM on or before the last date of application.
  • Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • No batch change is allowed under any circumstances and Institute's decision will be final in this regard.
  • Any delay in reaching the forms due to postal or any other reasons will be individual's responsibility.
  • Above is the net amount payable to HCIL.
  • Other rules & regulations are part of the application form and are binding on the student.
  • Any changes in program dates are subject to the discretion of the Institute and HCIL shall not be held liable for the same.
